Both seat 2–4. A hatchback (WagonR, Swift) is the budget pick for couples and short transfers. A sedan (Dzire, Etios) adds boot space and a smoother ride — worth it on airport runs with luggage.
When to step up to an SUV or Innova
Sikkim's roads are steep and winding, and North Sikkim beyond Chungthang gets rough. An SUV (Ertiga, Bolero, Scorpio) or a Toyota Innova / Innova Crysta gives you more space, higher clearance and a more composed ride on the climbs. The Crysta is the top pick for long, high-altitude journeys.
