Getting to Darjeeling
Darjeeling is reached from the plains via Kurseng and Ghoom. From NJP it's about 78 km and 3 hours; from Bagdogra (IXB) around 95 km and 3½ hours. The last stretch climbs alongside the toy-train line, so it's slow but scenic — allow extra time in peak season and around Ghoom.
